Most mainland UK locations are covered by our standard £65 furniture delivery service, with a reduced local delivery rate of £30 available within 15 miles of Bourne End SL8.

Some remote or harder-to-reach areas may require a different delivery charge, so please check our Delivery Information page before ordering or contact us if unsure.

Furniture deliveries are carried out by one-man couriers, so assistance will usually be required to help unload the item at delivery. Delivery is generally to the door, although some drivers may assist further at their own discretion.

We aim to deliver most furniture items within 10 working days, depending on location and courier routes.

Condition & Authenticity

We aim to describe the condition of every item as honestly and accurately as possible, with any notable wear, repairs, damage or imperfections clearly shown in both the description and photographs.

Established since 2005, we have built a strong knowledge of interiors, antiques and period furniture, allowing us to confidently identify and catalogue our pieces.

Description

A classic example of 19th or early 20th-century craftsmanship, this plough (or plow) plane was designed for cutting grooves into timber. The body is fitted with two substantial adjustable stems, capped with protective brass tips and inset with diamond-shaped brass washers.

The tool features a large brass thumb-screw adjustment on the top and carries the maker's stamp "A.E. GREEN" on the front of the main block. Often used as a display piece in rustic or industrial-themed interiors, it perfectly represents the peak of British toolmaking before the widespread adoption of metal planes.

Condition

The plane is in original antique condition and is sold as a decorative or restoration project:

The Wedge: The small wooden splinter/wedge that secures the metal blade is present, but the top portion has broken off, leaving a splintered finish (see detail photos).
Metalwork: The brass components show a deep, authentic patina with some surface oxidation. The original metal blade is present.
Surface: The wood shows significant age-related wear, including historic scuffs, scratches, and a rich, darkened patina from years in a workshop environment.
Build: Structurally sound and heavy; the stems move as intended, though they may require a light wax or clean for smooth operation.
