Delivery & Collection

Most mainland UK locations are covered by our standard £65 furniture delivery service, with a reduced local delivery rate of £30 available within 15 miles of Bourne End SL8.

Some remote or harder-to-reach areas may require a different delivery charge, so please check our Delivery Information page before ordering or contact us if unsure.


Furniture deliveries are carried out by one-man couriers, so assistance will usually be required to help unload the item at delivery. Delivery is generally to the door, although some drivers may assist further at their own discretion.


We aim to deliver most furniture items within 10 working days, depending on location and courier routes.

Condition & Authenticity

We aim to describe the condition of every item as honestly and accurately as possible, with any notable wear, repairs, damage or imperfections clearly shown in both the description and photographs.


Established since 2005, we have built a strong knowledge of interiors, antiques and period furniture, allowing us to confidently identify and catalogue our pieces.

Description

This is an authentic, early 20th-century leather steamer trunk crafted by the specialist makers Bick Bros in Cheltenham, England. It is made from thick, heavy-duty leather with reinforced edges and original leather straps and buckles. The side is prominently hand-painted with the initials "M.E.H."

Inside, the trunk retains its original pinstriped fabric lining and the Bick Bros maker's label. It features a heavy-duty leather carry handle on the side and original metal hardware throughout. This is a substantial, high-quality piece of luggage that would make a superb coffee table, end-of-bed storage, or a premium vintage display prop for a shop or theatre.

Condition

This trunk is in distressed vintage condition, showing all the character of a well-traveled antique. There are marks and scratches throughout, as expected with an item of this age.

  • Surface: The leather shows significant scuffing, peeling, and wear, particularly to the lid and corners.

  • Hardware: The original leather straps are present but show age-related cracking; the metal buckles and locks show surface oxidation. No keys included.

  • Interior: The lining is present and relatively clean for its age but does have some historic stains and small tears.

  • Build: Sturdy and heavy, the structure of the trunk remains solid.
