Delivery & Collection
Most mainland UK locations are covered by our standard £65 furniture delivery service, with a reduced local delivery rate of £30 available within 15 miles of Bourne End SL8.
Some remote or harder-to-reach areas may require a different delivery charge, so please check our Delivery Information page before ordering or contact us if unsure.
Furniture deliveries are carried out by one-man couriers, so assistance will usually be required to help unload the item at delivery. Delivery is generally to the door, although some drivers may assist further at their own discretion.

A More Sustainable Choice
A More Sustainable Choice
Choosing antique and reclaimed furniture is one of the most sustainable ways to furnish a home.
Older furniture was often built using solid timber and traditional craftsmanship designed to last for generations, rather than a few years.
By giving these pieces a new home, you help reduce demand for mass-produced furniture while keeping beautiful, characterful items in circulation for years to come.

Description
This authentic early 20th-century desk is a beautiful combination of functionality and Edwardian style. Crafted from solid oak with a rich, tiger-grain patina, it features a smooth-operating slatted tambour (roll-top) lid. Opening the lid reveals a dark green faux-leather writing surface and an integrated gallery with multiple pigeonholes and a small central drawer for stationery.
The desk sits on an elegant open frame with twin-spindle "ladder" sides and a lower full-width storage shelf. Two friction-locking drawers are positioned beneath the writing surface, fitted with original decorative brass handles. Its smaller footprint makes it an ideal choice for a home office, hallway, or a quiet corner of a living room
Condition
The desk is in good antique condition and remains fully functional:
-
The Tambour: The roll-top lid is in good working order and slides smoothly.
-
Surface: The green writing surface is intact but shows light historic marks and indentations consistent with use.
-
Finish: The oak frame shows authentic wear, including minor scuffs, light scratches, and a deep aged patina throughout (see detail photos).
-
Hardware: All original brass handles and the lock plate are present. Note: A key is present and shown in the internal lock.
-
Build: The unit is structurally sound and stable.
