Delivery & Collection

Most mainland UK locations are covered by our standard £65 furniture delivery service, with a reduced local delivery rate of £30 available within 15 miles of Bourne End SL8.

Some remote or harder-to-reach areas may require a different delivery charge, so please check our Delivery Information page before ordering or contact us if unsure.


Furniture deliveries are carried out by one-man couriers, so assistance will usually be required to help unload the item at delivery. Delivery is generally to the door, although some drivers may assist further at their own discretion.


We aim to deliver most furniture items within 10 working days, depending on location and courier routes.

Condition & Authenticity

We aim to describe the condition of every item as honestly and accurately as possible, with any notable wear, repairs, damage or imperfections clearly shown in both the description and photographs.


Established since 2005, we have built a strong knowledge of interiors, antiques and period furniture, allowing us to confidently identify and catalogue our pieces.

Description

This is a high-quality mahogany carver chair that embodies the grace of 18th-century English design. It features a distinctive openwork backrest with a central carved wheat-sheaf and fan motif, flowing into elegant "serpentine" scrolled arms. The chair stands on sturdy square-tapered legs connected by an H-frame stretcher for added strength.

The seat is upholstered in a classic cream floral damask fabric, which complements the rich, dark tones of the mahogany. This is a substantial and decorative armchair, perfect as a head-of-table dining chair, a desk chair, or a standalone accent piece in a hallway or bedroom.

Condition

The chair is in aged antique condition and shows several historic repairs:

  • The Frame: There is a visible historic break and repair to the top rail of the backrest (see detail photos).

  • Surface: The mahogany finish shows authentic wear, including scuffs, scratches, and some finish loss, particularly on the arms and legs, consistent with its age.

  • Upholstery: The floral seat is generally clean and intact, though it shows light signs of use and age-related wear.

  • Build: Despite the historic repairs, the chair remains structurally functional, though it should be treated with the care appropriate for an antique piece.
