Most mainland UK locations are covered by our standard £65 furniture delivery service, with a reduced local delivery rate of £30 available within 15 miles of Bourne End SL8.

Some remote or harder-to-reach areas may require a different delivery charge, so please check our Delivery Information page before ordering or contact us if unsure.

Furniture deliveries are carried out by one-man couriers, so assistance will usually be required to help unload the item at delivery. Delivery is generally to the door, although some drivers may assist further at their own discretion.

We aim to deliver most furniture items within 10 working days, depending on location and courier routes.

We aim to describe the condition of every item as honestly and accurately as possible, with any notable wear, repairs, damage or imperfections clearly shown in both the description and photographs.

Description

This is a substantial and authentically rustic antique pine meat safe. It features two large front doors and side panels fitted with original fine wire mesh. The cabinet is constructed from solid pine and has a wonderful, naturally aged "honey" patina.

Inside, the cupboard is spacious and open (originally would have had shelves or hooks). It retains its original simple iron latches and hinges. This is a very popular piece for interior designers looking for "primitive" or "modern farmhouse" aesthetics. It would make a unique kitchen larder, a quirky linen cupboard, or even a decorative storage unit for a potting shed or garden room.

Condition

This item is in highly distressed, original condition and is sold as a restoration project:

The Mesh: The wire mesh is authentic but is broken and torn in several areas (see detail photos). It will likely need replacing if being used for secure storage.
The Frame: The pine frame is generally sound, though there is some movement in the joints as expected with an item of this age and size.
Surface: There are marks, scratches, and historic scuffs throughout. The wood has a dry, natural finish.
Build: One corner of the top has some historic splintering/wear. It stands on simple square feet.
