Delivery & Collection
Delivery & Collection
Most mainland UK locations are covered by our standard £65 furniture delivery service, with a reduced local delivery rate of £30 available within 15 miles of Bourne End SL8.
Some remote or harder-to-reach areas may require a different delivery charge, so please check our Delivery Information page before ordering or contact us if unsure.
Furniture deliveries are carried out by one-man couriers, so assistance will usually be required to help unload the item at delivery. Delivery is generally to the door, although some drivers may assist further at their own discretion.
We aim to deliver most furniture items within 10 working days, depending on location and courier routes.
Collection is also welcome from our Bourne End showroom:

A More Sustainable Choice
A More Sustainable Choice
Choosing antique and reclaimed furniture is one of the most sustainable ways to furnish a home.
Older furniture was often built using solid timber and traditional craftsmanship designed to last for generations, rather than a few years.
By giving these pieces a new home, you help reduce demand for mass-produced furniture while keeping beautiful, characterful items in circulation for years to come.

The chair is in used condition, presenting a wonderfully rustic, weathered appearance with extensive signs of age and character:
- The solid pine seat and frame exhibit numerous prominent water marks, ring stains, and areas of discoloration throughout.
- There are multiple scratches, scuffs, and small indentations across the woodwork, giving the piece an authentic, time-worn country look.
- The timber has naturally aged to a lovely warm tone, with various historic knots visible in the pine panels.
- The frame remains exceptionally solid, heavy, and structurally sound, offering a robust and fully usable seating option.
Description
An exceptional and highly unique antique style hooded porter's chair, beautifully crafted from solid pine timbers. Historically designed to keep cold draughts away from hall porters, this striking hall seat features a high back with a classic overhanging wooden canopy or hood.
The unit boasts traditional tongue-and-groove planking running down the entire length of the back interior, flanked by sweeping, curved side panels that flow into supportive armrests. The base features a deeply shaped decorative cutout apron at the front and a rustic trestle-style support frame. Its commanding silhouette makes it a phenomenal statement piece for a large hallway, entryway, or eclectic living space.
