Delivery & Collection

Most mainland UK locations are covered by our standard £65 furniture delivery service, with a reduced local delivery rate of £30 available within 15 miles of Bourne End SL8.

Some remote or harder-to-reach areas may require a different delivery charge, so please check our Delivery Information page before ordering or contact us if unsure.


Furniture deliveries are carried out by one-man couriers, so assistance will usually be required to help unload the item at delivery. Delivery is generally to the door, although some drivers may assist further at their own discretion.


We aim to deliver most furniture items within 10 working days, depending on location and courier routes.

Condition & Authenticity

We aim to describe the condition of every item as honestly and accurately as possible, with any notable wear, repairs, damage or imperfections clearly shown in both the description and photographs.


Established since 2005, we have built a strong knowledge of interiors, antiques and period furniture, allowing us to confidently identify and catalogue our pieces.

Description

This charming Victorian side chair is crafted from solid wood with a deep, rich mahogany-toned finish. The design features an architectural backrest with a hand-carved top rail depicting a central floral rosette flanked by scrolled ears. Four delicate turned spindles provide support, leading down to a sturdy seat frame.

The chair stands on attractive turned front legs with a central spindle stretcher, while the back legs feature a classic splayed sabre design. The seat is fitted with an original-style woven cane (rattan) panel. Due to its petite proportions and refined detailing, this chair is ideal as a decorative accent in a bedroom, dressing room, or hallway.

Condition

The chair is in authentic antique condition and is sold as a characterful piece:

  • Surface: The finish shows significant historic wear, scuffs, and scratches throughout, particularly on the seat frame and uprights, revealing the natural wood beneath (see detail photos).

  • Cane Seat: The woven cane is largely intact but shows minor breaks and small holes in the weave (see detail photos). It remains functional but should be treated with care.

  • Frame: The wooden frame is structurally complete, though typical for a piece of this age, there may be very minor historic movement in the joints.

  • Build: A lightweight and elegant antique item.
