Most mainland UK locations are covered by our standard £65 furniture delivery service, with a reduced local delivery rate of £30 available within 15 miles of Bourne End SL8.

Some remote or harder-to-reach areas may require a different delivery charge, so please check our Delivery Information page before ordering or contact us if unsure.

Furniture deliveries are carried out by one-man couriers, so assistance will usually be required to help unload the item at delivery. Delivery is generally to the door, although some drivers may assist further at their own discretion.

We aim to deliver most furniture items within 10 working days, depending on location and courier routes.

Condition & Authenticity

We aim to describe the condition of every item as honestly and accurately as possible, with any notable wear, repairs, damage or imperfections clearly shown in both the description and photographs.

Description

This is a solid Victorian mahogany chest with a traditional "two-over-two" drawer configuration. The chest features decorative reeding along the front edges and sits on a bracket-style base with a scalloped apron. The drawers are fitted with ornate brass fan-shaped handles.

Originally part of a larger dressing suite, this unit now serves as a standalone chest of drawers. It offers substantial storage space and a large top surface, making it a practical addition to a bedroom or hallway. It is an authentic piece of 19th-century furniture that would suit a traditional or "shabby chic" interior.

Condition

This chest is in project condition and shows significant wear consistent with its age:

Missing Parts: One of the brass drawer pulls is missing (bottom right), and the original overmantle mirror is no longer present.
Surface: The top surface has several obvious screw holes where the mirror was once attached. There are also visible water marks, heat rings, and scratches throughout the top (see detail photos).
Finish: There are marks and scuffs throughout the frame and drawer fronts.
Drawers: The drawers are structurally sound, though they would benefit from a light wax to help them slide more smoothly.
