Delivery & Collection

Most mainland UK locations are covered by our standard £65 furniture delivery service, with a reduced local delivery rate of £30 available within 15 miles of Bourne End SL8.

Some remote or harder-to-reach areas may require a different delivery charge, so please check our Delivery Information page before ordering or contact us if unsure.


Furniture deliveries are carried out by one-man couriers, so assistance will usually be required to help unload the item at delivery. Delivery is generally to the door, although some drivers may assist further at their own discretion.


We aim to deliver most furniture items within 10 working days, depending on location and courier routes.


Collection is also welcome from our Bourne End showroom:

Condition & Authenticity

We aim to describe the condition of every item as honestly and accurately as possible, with any notable wear, repairs, damage or imperfections clearly shown in both the description and photographs.


Established since 2005, we have built a strong knowledge of interiors, antiques and period furniture, allowing us to confidently identify and catalogue our pieces.

Condition

The chair is in good, honest antique condition, showing genuine wear consistent with its 130-year history:

  • Cane Seat: The woven seat is in good condition and remains tight, intact, and perfectly usable with no significant breaks or sagging (see detail photos).
  • Woodwork: The walnut frame shows surface scuffs, scratches, and localized finish wear, particularly on the sharp corners of the seat rail and around the knees of the front cabriole legs where the original polish has thinned.
  • Build: Structurally sound and stable. The under-seat stretchers are tight, and the chair stands level.

Description

A graceful example of late Victorian bedroom or salon seating, crafted from solid walnut. The chair features a stylized, molded top rail over a simple twin-bar backrest, giving it a light and airy appearance.

The square seat retains its traditional hand-woven cane (rattan) panel set within a walnut frame. The front of the chair is supported by elegant cabriole legs with defined knees, connected to the rear legs by a traditional H-shaped stretcher featuring central turned bulb accents. The timber has a rich, medium-brown walnut tone that highlights the authentic age of the piece.
