Delivery & Collection

Most mainland UK locations are covered by our standard £65 furniture delivery service, with a reduced local delivery rate of £30 available within 15 miles of Bourne End SL8.

Some remote or harder-to-reach areas may require a different delivery charge, so please check our Delivery Information page before ordering or contact us if unsure.


Furniture deliveries are carried out by one-man couriers, so assistance will usually be required to help unload the item at delivery. Delivery is generally to the door, although some drivers may assist further at their own discretion.


We aim to deliver most furniture items within 10 working days, depending on location and courier routes.

Condition & Authenticity

We aim to describe the condition of every item as honestly and accurately as possible, with any notable wear, repairs, damage or imperfections clearly shown in both the description and photographs.


Established since 2005, we have built a strong knowledge of interiors, antiques and period furniture, allowing us to confidently identify and catalogue our pieces.

Description

This doorstop is a classic example of decorative ironwork, cast in relief to create a multi-dimensional scene. It depicts a pastoral couple in 18th-century attire standing beneath a stylized tree; the shepherd is shown playing a flute while a sheep or dog rests at their feet.

The piece has a rustic, weathered finish that enhances its antique appeal. It is designed with a flat back and a deep, weighted base to securely hold open even heavy wooden doors. The top of the tree features a decorative scroll that can also serve as a finger-grip for easy repositioning.

Condition

The doorstop is in good vintage condition with a rugged, aged character:

  • Surface: The cast iron has a naturally weathered patina with some surface oxidation and minor rust spots, which is typical for the material and adds to its rustic charm.

  • Structure: There is a visible historic repair/reinforcement to the rear of the upper section, where a metal plate has been secured with screws (see detail photos).

  • Build: The doorstop remains exceptionally heavy, solid, and fit for purpose.
