Delivery & Collection

Most mainland UK locations are covered by our standard £65 furniture delivery service, with a reduced local delivery rate of £30 available within 15 miles of Bourne End SL8.

Some remote or harder-to-reach areas may require a different delivery charge, so please check our Delivery Information page before ordering or contact us if unsure.

Furniture deliveries are carried out by one-man couriers, so assistance will usually be required to help unload the item at delivery. Delivery is generally to the door, although some drivers may assist further at their own discretion.

We aim to deliver most furniture items within 10 working days, depending on location and courier routes.

Collection is also welcome from our Bourne End showroom:

Condition & Authenticity

We aim to describe the condition of every item as honestly and accurately as possible, with any notable wear, repairs, damage or imperfections clearly shown in both the description and photographs.

Established since 2005, we have built a strong knowledge of interiors, antiques and period furniture, allowing us to confidently identify and catalogue our pieces.

If you would like a more detailed condition report, additional photographs or a walkaround video via WhatsApp or SMS, we are always happy to help.

Please contact us at furniture_@live.co.uk with any enquiries.

A More Sustainable Choice

Choosing antique and reclaimed furniture is one of the most sustainable ways to furnish a home.

Older furniture was often built using solid timber and traditional craftsmanship designed to last for generations, rather than a few years.

By giving these pieces a new home, you help reduce demand for mass-produced furniture while keeping beautiful, characterful items in circulation for years to come.

Description

This is a distinctive matching pair of early 20th-century club armchairs, likely dating from the 1920s or 1930s. Constructed with substantial solid wood frames, they feature a grand, architectural silhouette with wrap-around backrests and deep, comfortable seating.

The standout feature of this pair is the hand-carved blind-fretwork on the aprons, showcasing a wave and scroll motif with central trefoil cut-outs. The chairs are elevated on sturdy carved cabriole legs with scrolled feet. They have been reupholstered fairly recently in a plush dusky rose velvet with a coordinating braided trim, making them a "ready-to-go" pair that perfectly blends historic character with immediate comfort.

Condition

The chairs are in good to fair condition and are structurally sound:

  • Upholstery: Recently reupholstered and in good/fair condition. The rose velvet is generally clean with some light surface tracking/shading as expected with the pile of the fabric.

  • The Frame: Heavy, solid wood. The finish shows authentic aged wear, with some scuffs, historic marks, and finish thinning to the feet and carved rails, adding to their period charm.

  • Build: Structurally very sound, sturdy, and well-preserved.

Dimensions

  • Total Height: 80 cm

  • Seat Height: 35 cm

  • Width: 72 cm

  • Depth: 75 cm

NOTE: These are heavy, substantial items. All delivery options are one-man deliveries and assistance will be required unloading.
