Delivery & Collection

Most mainland UK locations are covered by our standard £65 furniture delivery service, with a reduced local delivery rate of £30 available within 15 miles of Bourne End SL8.

Some remote or harder-to-reach areas may require a different delivery charge, so please check our Delivery Information page before ordering or contact us if unsure.


Furniture deliveries are carried out by one-man couriers, so assistance will usually be required to help unload the item at delivery. Delivery is generally to the door, although some drivers may assist further at their own discretion.


We aim to deliver most furniture items within 10 working days, depending on location and courier routes.

Condition & Authenticity

We aim to describe the condition of every item as honestly and accurately as possible, with any notable wear, repairs, damage or imperfections clearly shown in both the description and photographs.


Established since 2005, we have built a strong knowledge of interiors, antiques and period furniture, allowing us to confidently identify and catalogue our pieces.

Description

A superb example of British optical engineering, these Barr & Stroud CF30 binoculars were designed for the rigors of naval service. They feature a 7x magnification and individual eyepiece focusing, allowing for precise calibration in marine environments.

The barrels are finished in a durable textured black vulcanite/leatherette, and the eyepieces are clearly engraved: "BARR & STROUD 7x CF30 GLASGOW & LONDON" along with the serial number 10475. These heavy-duty binoculars were renowned for their light-gathering ability and rugged construction. This set comes with its original fitted black leather case, featuring a protective red velvet/felt lining and a sturdy leather shoulder strap.

Condition

The binoculars are in good vintage/fair used condition:

  • Optics: The lenses are in good/fair condition with no visible clouding or significant internal fungus. They are fully functional and provide a clear image.

  • Body: The black enamel finish shows visible paint loss and scuffing to the metal edges consistent with heavy service use (see detail photos).

  • Case: The original leather case is intact and functional. It shows historic scuffs, scratches, and wear to the leather, particularly on the straps and hinge area, which adds to its authentic service character.

  • Build: All moving parts, including the individual focus rings, work well.
