Delivery & Collection
Delivery & Collection
Most mainland UK locations are covered by our standard £65 furniture delivery service, with a reduced local delivery rate of £30 available within 15 miles of Bourne End SL8.
Some remote or harder-to-reach areas may require a different delivery charge, so please check our Delivery Information page before ordering or contact us if unsure.
Furniture deliveries are carried out by one-man couriers, so assistance will usually be required to help unload the item at delivery. Delivery is generally to the door, although some drivers may assist further at their own discretion.
We aim to deliver most furniture items within 10 working days, depending on location and courier routes.

A More Sustainable Choice
A More Sustainable Choice
Choosing antique and reclaimed furniture is one of the most sustainable ways to furnish a home.
Older furniture was often built using solid timber and traditional craftsmanship designed to last for generations, rather than a few years.
By giving these pieces a new home, you help reduce demand for mass-produced furniture while keeping beautiful, characterful items in circulation for years to come.

Description
This substantial jug features an intricate relief-molded scene depicting a country woman feeding her livestock, surrounded by a brickwork background and lush foliage. The handle is cleverly designed as a sculpted hound/dog stretching up toward the rim.
Finished in a warm, glossy sand-toned glaze, the jug carries a wealth of detail. The base is extensively marked, stating: "A Reproduction of 'Old Feeding Time' Jug made by Samuel Alcock 100 years ago", alongside the official Burleigh Ware "Beehive" backstamp (Burgess & Leigh Ltd). It is a classic piece of Staffordshire pottery that celebrates the heritage of English ceramic design.
Condition
The jug is in fair vintage condition with some significant points to note:
-
Repairs: There is a noticeable historic repair where the dog handle meets the body at the bottom joint (see detail photos). The handle feels stable but the glue line is visible.
-
Finish: There is a large glaze flake/chip to the upper rim near the handle (see photos).
-
Glaze: The body shows a fine network of age-related crazing throughout, which is common for Burleigh Ware of this age.
-
Build: Aside from the noted handle repair and rim chip, the jug is structurally sound and free from cracks to the main body.
Dimensions
-
Height: 24 cm
