Most mainland UK locations are covered by our standard £65 furniture delivery service, with a reduced local delivery rate of £30 available within 15 miles of Bourne End SL8.

Some remote or harder-to-reach areas may require a different delivery charge, so please check our Delivery Information page before ordering or contact us if unsure.

Furniture deliveries are carried out by one-man couriers, so assistance will usually be required to help unload the item at delivery. Delivery is generally to the door, although some drivers may assist further at their own discretion.

We aim to deliver most furniture items within 10 working days, depending on location and courier routes.

Condition & Authenticity

We aim to describe the condition of every item as honestly and accurately as possible, with any notable wear, repairs, damage or imperfections clearly shown in both the description and photographs.

Established since 2005, we have built a strong knowledge of interiors, antiques and period furniture, allowing us to confidently identify and catalogue our pieces.

Description

A superb example of early British Mid-Century Modern design, this G-Plan Brandon chest is crafted from light oak veneer. It features a distinctive four-drawer configuration with the signature angled wooden "smile" handles that define the Brandon range. The unit stands on a recessed plinth base, giving it the sleek, clean lines typical of the 1950s aesthetic.

The top drawer is slightly shallower, perfect for smaller items, while the three lower drawers offer deeper storage. The wood has a lovely warm grain and features the original E. Gomme gold embossed maker's mark inside the top drawer. This is a robust, well-engineered piece of furniture that remains a timeless addition to any contemporary or vintage-themed interior.

Condition

This chest is in good vintage condition and is structurally sound. As an authentic piece from the 1950s, it shows signs of its age:

Surface: The top has several historic marks, including a circular dark stain (likely from a lamp or vase) and various surface scratches and scuffs (see detail photos).
Finish: There is some light wear and "silvering" to the finish on the drawer fronts and side panels consistent with decades of use.
Mechanical: All drawers feature quality dovetail joints and slide smoothly.
Build: The unit is solid and sturdy.
