Most mainland UK locations are covered by our standard £65 furniture delivery service, with a reduced local delivery rate of £30 available within 15 miles of Bourne End SL8.

Some remote or harder-to-reach areas may require a different delivery charge, so please check our Delivery Information page before ordering or contact us if unsure.

Furniture deliveries are carried out by one-man couriers, so assistance will usually be required to help unload the item at delivery. Delivery is generally to the door, although some drivers may assist further at their own discretion.

We aim to deliver most furniture items within 10 working days, depending on location and courier routes.

Condition & Authenticity

We aim to describe the condition of every item as honestly and accurately as possible, with any notable wear, repairs, damage or imperfections clearly shown in both the description and photographs.

Established since 2005, we have built a strong knowledge of interiors, antiques and period furniture, allowing us to confidently identify and catalogue our pieces.

Description

This is a characterful and substantial pine storage trunk, beautifully decorated with hand-painted floral motifs. The front is divided into three decorative panels, each featuring a bouquet of roses in a traditional folk art style, framed by cream pinstriping.

The most surprising feature is the interior, which is finished in a vibrant, historic green paint. The chest sits on short bracket feet and retains its original iron strap hinges and brass escutcheon. It’s a very versatile piece that would serve perfectly as a coffee table, a toy box, or for storing linens at the foot of a bed. Its authentic, weathered look brings a wonderful sense of history and charm to a home.

Condition

This chest is in original vintage condition with a heavy natural patina:

Surface: There are marks, scuffs, and significant scratches throughout the lid and body, as expected with an item of this age. The painted decorations show some fading and age-related wear (see detail photos).
Interior: The green paint inside is well-preserved but shows some historic staining and wear to the base boards.
Build: The trunk is structurally sound and very heavy. The hinges are strong and hold the lid well.
Hardware: The lock is present but there is no key.
