Crafted from solid mahogany, this table showcases the superior craftsmanship of mid-century nesting sets. The inset leather top is intricately embossed with a deep acanthus leaf border, providing a tactile and classic finish.
Please Note: As this was originally the outer table of a nesting set, it is designed with an open rear apron (missing the decorative wooden edge on one side). This feature was intentional to allow the smaller tables to slide underneath. This makes it particularly well-suited for use as a side table positioned against a sofa or wall, where the open side is not visible. It stands on slender turned legs with a stabilizing H-stretcher.
Condition
The table is in good functional condition with authentic vintage wear:
Leather Top: The leather has a beautiful aged honey-brown patina. There are light surface scuffs and minor historic indentations (see detail photos) but the embossing remains crisp.
Frame & Design: As noted, one side is open under the tabletop to accommodate nesting; this is part of the original design and not a post-manufacturing loss.
Woodwork: There is visible finish wear and light scuffing to the legs and the corners of the tabletop, consistent with regular use.
Build: Structurally very sound, stable, and ready for use.
