Delivery & Collection

Most mainland UK locations are covered by our standard £65 furniture delivery service, with a reduced local delivery rate of £30 available within 15 miles of Bourne End SL8.

Some remote or harder-to-reach areas may require a different delivery charge, so please check our Delivery Information page before ordering or contact us if unsure.


Furniture deliveries are carried out by one-man couriers, so assistance will usually be required to help unload the item at delivery. Delivery is generally to the door, although some drivers may assist further at their own discretion.


We aim to deliver most furniture items within 10 working days, depending on location and courier routes.

Condition & Authenticity

We aim to describe the condition of every item as honestly and accurately as possible, with any notable wear, repairs, damage or imperfections clearly shown in both the description and photographs.


Established since 2005, we have built a strong knowledge of interiors, antiques and period furniture, allowing us to confidently identify and catalogue our pieces.

Description

Crafted from a dense, heavy hardwood (likely cocoa wood or lignum vitae), this truncheon is designed for durability and balance. It features a smooth, ergonomic handle that tapers out to a weighted bulbous end, typical of British-style police batons from the 20th century.

The wood has a deep, rich dark-brown-to-black stain with a lustrous polished finish that highlights the subtle grain beneath. Its compact 31cm length suggests it may have been a pocket-sized version or a special duty baton. This is a substantial, well-weighted piece that carries a real sense of authority and history.

Condition

The truncheon is in good vintage condition with signs of functional age:

  • Surface: The finish shows light scuffs, historic scratches, and minor surface pitting consistent with its age and use (see detail photos).

  • Ends: There is some visible finish wear and smoothing to both the handle base and the striking end, revealing the natural wood grain beneath.

  • Build: Structurally perfect—solid, heavy, and without any cracks or splits to the main body.
